All Children’s Hospital Endocrinology and Diabetes Department teams up with Tampa Bay JDRF and the USF Diabetes Center to provide this free day of education for families living with Type 1 diabetes, previously known as juvenile diabetes.
Organizers say this event provides families with a continuous learning process to help their child manage his or her condition. Speakers include experts discussing food and coping strategies.
At 11am, Tampa Bay Outfielder Sam Fuld, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 10, will speak about his own experiences with diabetes.
