Heather Judkins, Ph.D., an assistant professor in USF St. Petersburg's biological sciences department, presents this lecture about squid and octopods, the first of a new "Marine Science" series at Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center.
Squid and octopods have fascinated people for years by mastering camouflage and being effective predators, organizers say. Judkins will highlight the characteristics that make these marine animals unique as well as current scientific research.
