Photographer Carlton Ward Jr. to present photos, findings of wildlife expedition

 

ST. PETERSBURG, FL (Aug 30, 2012) – Conservation photographer Carlton Ward Jr. will give a free presentation at USF St. Petersburg Sept. 12 about his Florida Wildlife Corridor Expedition.

Ward will show photographs and talk about the 100-day, 1,000 mile trek he and a small team participated in from January through April this year. The group traveled by kayak, mountain bike, horseback and on foot from Everglades National Park to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge in Georgia. The journey was intended to promote the creation of a wildlife corridor through the state.

The presentation, free and open to the public, will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the USFSP Harbor Hall Gallery (formerly the Dali Museum), 1000 Third St. South. Free parking is available at the hall or across Third St. Free refreshments will be served at 6 p.m.

 

The event is sponsored by the Florida Humanities Council, the Center for Science and Policy Applications for the Coastal Environments, the Florida Studies Program and the USFSP Division of External Affairs.
