"Thrill St. Pete" is the third year of a local incarnation of the "Thrill The World" worldwide event -- an attempt to create the largest simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson’s
“Thriller.” Thousands of people in cities around the world will learn the “Thriller” zombie dance and perform it on the same day and time.
The dance occurs at 10pm. Starting at 5pm, enjoy practice dances, music from DJ Rob Morey, entertainment by mentalist Greg Raven, and the chance to "zombiefy" yourself with the face-painters and body-painters available.
Feel free to design your own costume for the Zombie Costume Contest at 11pm.

Participation is free; just register at the event's Web site, learn the dance (either through videos on the event's Web site or at the Pier), and show up on time.
Any donations made toward the event and purchases of "Thrill St. Pete" gear will benefit the Center for Great Apes, a charity whose mission is to provide a permanent sanctuary for orangutans and chimpanzees who have been retired from research or the entertainment industry, or who are longer wanted as pets.
