Five Killed in Wreck, Including Three St. Pete Women
A 6-year-old boy is the only survivor in the DeSoto County wreck, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Three St. Petersburg women were killed in a wreck Sunday evening in DeSoto County. Two others were killed, and a 6-year-old boy is the only survivor, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The victims from St. Petersburg were identified as Lamour Welch, 29, India Welch, 24, and Tehira Welch, 18. The other fatalities were Jennifer Zuniga, 30, of Venus, and Antwayne Robinson 25, of Garner, N.C.
The crash happened at 7 p.m. on State Road 70 near Arcadia, according to the Highway Patrol. Zuniga’s Ford F150 reportedly hydroplaned, crossing the center line, in front of a Volkswagen Passat driven by Lamour Welch. Welch tried to avoid the truck, but the two cars collided, according to the FHP.

The boy, 6, was in the truck with Zuniga. He is listed in critical condition at Tampa General Hospital, according to WFLA.
The crash remains under investigation.
