Florida Named Best State For Retirees
The Sunshine State's affordability and quality of life rankings put it at the top in a recent WalletHub analysis.

When it comes to the best states in the country for retirees to hang their hats, Florida beats all comers.
That’s according to a new analysis released Monday by WalletHub. The website dedicated to personal finance wanted to find out which states provide retirees the biggest bang for their bucks. With that in mind, its analysists looked at 24 different metrics to rank states and the District of Columbia. Factors considered in the rankings included affordability, quality of life and healthcare, among others.
When all was said and done, Florida scored the highest with Wyoming trailing in second place. The Top 5 was rounded out by South Dakota, South Carolina and Colorado.

The worst places in the country for retirees, WalletHub’s study found were Vermont, Connecticut, Hawaii, Washington, D.C., and Rhode Island.
WalletHub’s analysis was prompted by the fact that nearly a third of non-retirees haven’t put away money for retirement, the website explained.
