Florida Ranks Worst in 'Everything,' Website Says
The website Thrillist, which ranks cities, food, drink and travel, says the Sunshine State contributes little to America.

Florida comes in dead last in βeverything,β according to the latest list released by Thrillist.
The website that ranks cities and states on such things as food, drinks and travel experiences, says the Sunshine State is pretty much the worst of the worst when it comes to contributing to America. Its rankings, it says, are based on such things as inventions, food and drink, βsomewhat productive famous peopleβ and geographical beauty.
The roll out of the βgo big or go homeβ list that ranks states on βeverythingβ was released in time for what the website calls βAmerica Week.β

The list kicks off going from worst to best states with an apology right off the bat to Florida.
βWhen putting together a list such as this, there can be some temptation to defy popular expectations and go against the grain,β the writers explained. Even so, pointing to the popular βFlorida Manβ twitter account, they added, βFloridaβs awfulness resume is so staggeringly impressive that it couldnβt go any other way. You were born for this.β

In the awfulness department, Delaware, Ohio, Arizona, Utah and Mississippi ranked slightly higher than the Sunshine State.
Michigan earned No. 1 honors in the rankings with the explanation that βfar too much of the Michigan narrative centers on Detroit and its many issues.β The writers go on to say Michiganβs βgreatest strengths lie in the state as a whole.β

The list writersβ conclusions aside, Florida has taken top honors in a number of other surveys as of late. While the state does indeed rank No. 1 for shark attacks, itβs also among the Top 25 best places for road trips, has some of the nerdiest towns and rarely fails to earn a mention for best beaches.
