Foul Play Not Likely in Pier Death, Police Say

The St. Petersburg Police Department has released the identity of the man found floating in the water near the pier Wednesday evening.

According to the agency, pier security found Eddie Lee Foster, 69, just before 10 p.m. in the area south of the pier at 800 2nd Ave. N.E.

Police say there are no signs of foul play.

Foster, an email to media from the department said, was homeless.
