Gandy, Roosevelt Detours Announced

Work on the overhead bridge between Roosevelt and 4th Street North is prompting a two-day closing.

Motorists who use Gandy and Roosevelt boulevards to get around may want to find different routes in the nighttime hours Friday and Saturday.

The Florida Department of Transportation has announced a two-night detour is planned starting Friday. The detours will be in effect from 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. both nights. Westbound Gandy Boulevard and southbound Roosevelt Boulevard traffic will be impacted.

The detours are as follows:

  • Southbound Roosevelt – Traffic will turn right at westbound Gandy, a left turn at 9th Street and a left turn at eastbound Gandy.
  • Westbound Gandy – Traffic will turn left at 4th Street, right on 94th Avenue, right onto 9th Street, and left onto westbound Gandy.

The closings are being prompted by work on the overhead bridge between Roosevelt Boulevard and 4th Street North.
