Gas Station Robber Fired Shot At Cashier: St. Pete Police

Detectives are searching for a man who fired a gun during an armed robbery at an Exxon gas station Saturday, St. Pete police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Detectives are searching for a man who fired a gun during an armed robbery at the Exxon gas station at 901 4th Street N. late Saturday night, St. Petersburg police wrote in a Facebook post. (Watch a video of the robbery below.)

A man carrying food items approached the cashier’s counter and paid for them with cash just before 11:30 p.m.

When the store clerk handed the man his change, the customer pulled a gun from his waistband and demanded money. He fired a shot before walking out of the store, police said.

The clerk, who was unharmed, ran to a back room and called 911.

The suspect is a white man about 18 to 22 years old. He’s 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds, police said.

He was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt over a gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark-colored baseball cap with a Nike swoosh logo tucked under the hood, blue jeans, a white mask over his nose and mouth, blue surgical gloves on his hands, and black and white sneakers.
