Gator Hungry For ‘Pub Sub’ Removed From FL Publix Parking Lot: Police
A nearly 6-foot-long alligator was removed from a Pinellas Park Publix parking lot and relocated to a nearby body of water, police said.
PINELLAS PARK, FL — A nearly 6-foot-long gator was removed from a Publix parking lot in Pinellas Park Thursday evening.
Officers responded to reports of an alligator roaming around outside the grocery store at the intersection of 49th Street and Park Boulevard about 6:40 p.m., according to a Pinellas Park Police Department news release.
“We can only speculate that he was on his way to pick up a Pub Sub,” police said.

When officers arrived at Publix, they found the reptile walking along the sidewalk approaching the busy intersection.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers responded to help police trap the gator and relocate it to a large body of water in the area.
“We’re happy to report both he and the shoppers are safe,” police said.
