Girl, 13, Shot After Bringing Gun On School Bus In St. Pete: Police

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 13-year-old girl was shot Tuesday after bringing a gun on a school bus in St. Petersburg, according to police.

Police said the shooting happened at 18th Avenue North and 49th Street North on Tuesday morning. The school bus was transporting 20 students to Tyrone Middle School when the shooting happened, according to authorities.

Police said the girl suffered a single gunshot wound and was the only person on the bus in possession of a gun. No other students were injured.

The girl was taken to All Children's Hospital for treatment, where she was in stable condition.
