Toddler’s Caregivers Charged In Her Death: St. Pete Police

Three other children were also removed from the caregivers' home where a 3-year-old girl died, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The caregivers of a three-year-old girl face charges related to her death, according to a news release from St. Petersburg police.

The girl, Brandy Crews, was brought to the hospital Aug. 9 with severe head injuries. She was unresponsive and also had multiple cuts, burns, and injuries all over her body in various stages of healing, police said. She died Friday from her injuries.

Monica Williams, 33, and Daquan Lindsey, 25, were charged with murder following her death, police said.

They also face child abuse and child neglect charges for a young boy in their care. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and has been removed from the home, according to police.

Two other children under the age of 14 were also removed from the home.
