Government Offices In Pinellas County To Close On Veterans Day

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — Pinellas County government offices will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

The administrative offices of Parks and Conservation Resources will also be closed on Monday; however, county parks, the outdoor areas of county preserves and the Florida Botanical Gardens will remain open for the holiday.

In observance of the holiday, parking fees will be waived at all county boat ramps and Sand Key, Fred Howard and Fort De Soto beach parks on Monday.

The Brooker Creek Environmental Education Center, Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History Center and Heritage Village will be closed Monday. Both centers’ regular operating hours are Thursday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Heritage Village is always closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; its regular hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Solid Waste Disposal Facility will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, the Solid Waste Administration Building and Household Electronics and Chemical Collection Center (HEC3) will be closed.

All Human Services and Veterans Services offices will be closed.

The courts of the Sixth Judicial Circuit (Pinellas and Pasco) will not be in session, except for first-appearance advisory hearings and emergency situations.

The offices and adoption center at Pinellas County Animal Services will be closed.

Regular hours of operation at all county facilities will resume on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Clearwater

City of Clearwater offices, libraries and recreation centers will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day.

The city's Solid Waste Department will be working, and there will be no changes to the collection schedule.

For police or fire emergencies, dial 911 as usual.

For gas leaks, water line breaks or other non-police/fire emergencies, call the city's 24-hour emergency dispatch line at 727-462-6633.

St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg City Hall and Municipal Services Center will be closed Monday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.

Also closed will be The Greenhouse business assistance offices, the Dwight H. Jones Neighborhood Center and Jamestown Apartment/Townhomes office, the Enoch Daviss Center, Utility Accounts, the Sunshine Center and community libraries.

Open Monday are the Mangrove Bay, Cypress Links and Twin Brooks city golf courses, the municipal beach concession stands at Gulf Boulevard and Treasure Island, the Muncipal Marina Ship's Store, the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, Mahaffey Theater, Sunken Gardens, North Shore Aquatic Center, recreation centers and Sanitation Department brush sites.

There will be no change in residential trash collection.

Dunedin

All city offices and buildings, including the public library, will be closed in honor of Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11.

Garbage and recycling pick up will be unaffected.

Largo

City of Largo offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday.

Seminole

There will be no changes in residential trash collection on Veterans Day.

Tarpon Springs

Tarpon Springs city offices will be closed on Veterans Day.

Safety Harbor

The Safety Harbor Library will be closed on Veterans Day.

Gulfport

There will be no changes in residential trash collection on Veterans Day.

Pinellas Park

All city offices and the library will be closed on Monday.
