Halfacre Construction Company leads expansion for Coach House, Inc.

Halfacre Construction Company is building an expansion for Coach House, Inc.'s manufacturing facility.

Halfacre Construction Company (HalfacreConstruction.com), the area’s oldest, most established, locally owned and operated private commercial construction company, is building an expansion for Coach House, Inc.’s manufacturing facility.

The over 11,000-square-foot new addition will house the fiberglass and painting production areas and an extension to the assembly line for the company’s motorhome manufacturing. Coach House has created a patented, one-piece hand-laid fiberglass body mounted on a Ford E-450 or Mercedes Sprinter chassis. Sizes range from 23 to 27 feet. The superstructure is reinforced with carbon fiber and designed to prevent water leaks and rattles.

Expected to begin in mid July, the $1.25-million project is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2017. Halfacre Construction Company built the businesses’ existing building in 1995 and also constructed its dealership in Osprey.

“We have a long-standing history with Halfacre Construction Company,” said David Gerzeny, president of 32-year-old Coach House, Inc. “John Cox built our original building, and we have been here since December 1995. The building has been through a few storms, but we survived those challenges. I am confident that Halfacre Construction Company will see this project thoroughly through to completion.”

Located at 3480 Technology Drive in Nokomis, Fla., Ruben Gerzeny and sons David Gerzeny and Steve Gerzeny have been designing, engineering and building motorhomes in the area since 1985, when the first Coach House van conversion rolled out of a converted warehouse. Since then, the company has manufactured more than 3,000 motorhomes.
