Heavy Rains Cancel ‘Kids, ’ ‘Kats’ Showdown

The rains of March 23,24 washed out the final meeting of the year of the two championship contenders, who are separated by just one game with only two games remaining in the TQC IntraClub competition at North Shore Park,

They were poised to meet the (Kits 21-14 and Kats 20-15) in their final head-to-head match-up of the competitive season. Now, only two games remain to resolve what team finishes at the top of the four-team competition.

The third and fourth place teams will play a pivotal role in who wears the championship crown for 21-22.

Of concern to the two pennant contenders is the surging “Kids” team, which is on a tear during the last month of competition. Winners of eight games in a row outscoring opponents by an average of 18 runs to 11.5 per game.

The ‘Kids’ defeated the ‘Kats’ (18-6,17-10,15-14). ‘Kits’ are slightly more successful against the ‘Kids’ but lost their last encounter with the ‘Kids’ 21-20 on Tuesday, March 22.

On Tuesday, March 29, the ‘Kubs’ will meet the ‘Kats at 10:00 AM. Second game action will allow the Kits to stop the ‘Kids’ streaking offense and secure their one-game lead.

Season-ending games will be held Thursday, March, 31 with the offense starved Kubs taking on the Kats at 10:00 AM. ‘Kits’ and ‘Kids’close out the 21-22 schedule in a game that could decide Club Champion in the last inning of play.
