Help Catch an Auto Burglar
St. Petersburg Police are hoping someone recognizes the man it's after in three recent auto burglaries.

St. Petersburg Police haven’t made an arrest in three recent auto burglaries in the Shore Acres area, but they’re hoping residents can help make that happen.
That’s why they’ve released a photo and video of the man they think broke into three cars in that neighborhood Sept. 8. The surveillance video shows one of the crimes as it’s occurring.
Auto burglaries have kept St. Pete police on their toes all summer long. On one weekend in August, they received more than 20 calls about auto burglaries and a total of 71 arrests were made on that charge in July.

As the number of burglaries climbed, police reached out to the public, asking residents to do their part by locking their doors and keeping valuables out of sight.
Anyone who recognizes the man in the video is asked to call Det. Jason Harris at 727-893-4884.
