Help Shape South St. Petersburg's Future

A series of public workshops has been set to discuss revitalizing the area.

Residents are being asked to help guide the future of the South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Area.

The first in a series of workshops is set for Monday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m. to discuss the area that’s located between Fourth Street and 49th Street and from First Avenue North to 30th Avenue South. The redevelopment area essentially covers the Midtown and Childs Park areas.

Residents who attend will be asked to help pinpoint issues, policies and funding strategies that can help shape this area’s future, an email from the city stated. The meeting will be held in “breakout” format so attendees can weigh in on such issues as housing, economic development, community growth and public safety.
