Here's Your Chance To Visit Tampa Bay Museums For Free
Saturday is the best day of the year to go museum hopping. Sept. 21 is Smithsonian Museum Day when museums open their doors for free.
TAMPA BAY, FL — Saturday is the best day of the year to go museum hopping. Sept. 21 is Smithsonian Museum Day during which more than a thousand museums throughout county open their doors for free.
Museum Day is an annual celebration designed to entice residents to explore the museums in their own back yards.
Residents can check out the Museum Day website to find out which local museums are participating and to get a free ticket. Participants are allowed to download one ticket per email address. The ticket provides free general admission on Sept. 21 for two people.

Among the Tampa Bay museums offering free admission Saturday are:
- Tampa Bay History Museum, 801 Old Water St., Tampa
- Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, 400 N. Ashley Drive, Cube 200, Tampa
- Cracker Country Rural History Museum, 4800 N. U.S. 301, Tampa
- Tampa Museum Of Art, Cornelia Corbett Center, 120 W. Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa
- Henry B. Plant Museum, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd., Tampa
- Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg, 255 Beach Drive N.E., St. Petersburg
- Florida CraftArt Gallery, 501 Central Ave., St. Petersburg
- The Florida Holocaust Museum, 55 5th St. S., St. Petersburg
- Imagine Museum, 1901 Central Ave., St. Petersburg
