High School Football Season Gets Underway Friday

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — The weather may not reflect it but it's football season in Tampa Bay. Foregoing the stadium blankets and hot chocolate that are mandatory in cooler climes, thousands of students and parents will head to high school football stadiums tonight for the season's opener.

Tonight's games include:

Admiral Farragut vs Village Academy at Village Academy

Boca Ciega vs Lakewood at Boca Ciega

Calvary Christian vs Umatilla at Umatilla

Clearwater vs Dunedin at Dunedin

Clearwater Academy vs Indian Rock Christian at Clearwater Academy

Tarpon Springs vs Citrus Park Christian at Tarpon Springs

Clearwater Central Catholic vs Berkeley Prep at Clearwater Central Catholic

Countryside vs Osceola at Osceola

Dixie Hollins vs Monarch, Colorado

East Lake vs Palm Harbor University at East Lake

Gibbs vs Tampa Catholic at Gibbs

St. Petersburg vs Largo at Largo

Pinellas Park vs River Ridge at River Ridge

Seminole vs Northeast at Seminole

Indian Rock Christian vs Clearwater Academy at Clearwater Academy

Keswick Christian vs St. John Neumann at Keswick

Northside Christian vs Avant Garde Academy at Avant Garde

Shorecrest Prep vs Bishop McLaughlin at Shorecrest Prep

Superior Collegiate vs Orlando Christian Prep at Superior

Games begin at either 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
