Hotel Shooting Suspect Arrested: St. Pete Police
Two people were shot on May 1 in the parking garage of the Tru by Hilton in the Grand Central District, St. Petersburg police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The suspect in a May 1 shooting in the parking garage of a Grand Central District hotel has been arrested and charged, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.
Bryton Dunbar, 31, faces three counts of attempted homicide after shooting at three people in the parking garage at Tru by Hilton, 1650 Central Ave., police said.
He was also charged with fleeing and eluding police, according to Pinellas County court records.

A 25-year-old man, who works at the hotel as a valet, and a 27-year-old woman were shot by Dunbar and suffered non-threatening injuries, the agency said. They're both recovering.
The third victim, a man, was uninjured in the shooting.

Investigators say the shooting wasn't random and that Dunbar knew at least two of his victims.
The woman, a local resident who spent the night at the hotel, and another person were targeted in the attack, the Tampa Bay Times reported the day of the shooting.
