How To Celebrate Mother’s Day During Coronavirus In St. Pete

Mother's Day will be different this year, but it doesn't mean you can't find ways to celebrate

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Mother's Day for most Americans in 2020 will look different this year due to the new coronavirus crisis in the United States.

Still, people across the country and in St. Pete will be looking to make the best of the holiday celebrating moms everywhere Sunday. Whether it's spending time talking to each other virtually, a special gift to mom, or finding brunch delivery options in St. Pete, Patch has got you covered.

Picnic

You can pack the picnic basket with Mom's favorite food and take her to one of the many parks in St. Pete for a picnic. Two of our favorite parks at Patch are Sawgrass Lake Park and Crescent Lake Park. Don't forget the blanket, hand sanitizer and face masks.

A Scenic Drive

If Mom doesn't feel comfortable going out in public because of the coronavirus pandemic, take her for a beautiful drive and turn on her favorite music or podcasts. Coffee Pot Bayou is one of many St. Pete locations with a beautiful scenic route.

A Virtual Tour

Mom can see works of surrealism and not even have to leave the house. The Salvador Dali Museum offers virtual tours for free on their website. Mom can also enjoy their current online exhibit, Midnight in Paris, 1929.

Coffee Shop

It's confusing right now not knowing which coffee shops are open and closed, but we do know that Southside Coffee located at 3922 6th St S is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mother's Day. She can enjoy one of her favorite coffee beverages hot or iced. They do have outdoor seating and are enforcing the social distance policies.

While you most likely aren’t able to go to your favorite brunch spot for Mother’s Day in 2020, you still can order a special meal for delivery.
