Hundreds Turn Out For Getaway 5K/10K In St. Pete
The Getaway 5K/10K, a race series designed for every kind of runner regardless of age or level of fitness, took place in St. Pete.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- The Getaway 5K/10K, a race series designed for every kind of runner regardless of age or level of fitness, took place in St. Pete at Albert Whitted Park Sunday morning, Nov. 4.
The festivities included a 5K, 10K and a Kids Fun Run, as well as a post-race celebration featuring local business vendors, food and drink vendors, live music and a play area for kids.
Rooted in the belief that an active lifestyle and healthy living are important at any age, the Getaway 5K/10K is an officially timed race, yet still a fun run (or walk) for everyone. From first-timers to seasoned runners, toddlers to the 50-plus, friends’ weekend to family reunion, it offers events for all levels and ages.

The first Getaway 5K/10K Race took place in February 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. Since then, the number of runners – and locations – have expanded, with races in Tampa/St. Petersburg and the Boulder/Denver area, and more locations planned for 2019.
In just 18 months, the number of Getaway 5K/10K runners has more than tripled.
