ST. PETE, FL — Interstate 375 East is closed Wednesday afternoon because of standing flood water, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Westbound lanes on I-375 are open, Florida Highway Patrol added in a clarification. Authorities are urging drivers to take other routes and use caution on wet roadways in the area.

More rain is likely on the way in St. Petersburg as heavy thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon.
