A number of the incidents took place in the Tampa Bay area.

As mass shootings make headlines across the country, Florida and the Tampa Bay area have not been unscathed.
There have been 73 mass shootings in Florida since 2013, the Palm Beach Post reported after crunching data collected by ShootingTracker.com. Some of those shootings have occurred in the Tampa Bay area, including incidents in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Bradenton and New Port Richey.
Shooting Tracker defines mass shootings as incidents in which four or more people, including the shooter, are injured or killed.

“We count the number of people shot rather than the number of people killed because, ‘shooting’ means ‘people shot,’” the website explains.
So far in 2015, the website has tracked 353 mass shootings across the country, including Wednesday’s deadly spree in San Bernardino, Calif., involving Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik. In 2014, the site logged 336 mass shooting incidents, and in 2013 the number was 363.
