Karma Juice Bar & Eatery Leaving St. Pete's Edge District Aug. 1

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Karma Juice Bar & Eatery is permanently shutting the doors of its Edge District space at 1113 Central Ave. starting Aug. 1.

The healthy eatery has already opened its new location at 1804 4th Street N. in recent weeks and has plans to open a second spot on Beach Drive, according to a flyer distributed at the restaurant. It also operates a location at 2095 Drew Street in Clearwater.

Karma moved into the Edge District in 2019, after a July 4 fire forced them to leave their former downtown St. Petersburg location at 209 1st Street NE, according to St. Pete Rising.

Originally, they operated as a pop-up out of Intermezzo Coffee and Cocktails at 1113 Central Ave. before expanding next door into what was then called the Baum Avenue Market after a few months, Creative Loafing reported.

Over the years, the food hall was home to a number of well-known local eateries and shops — Valhalla Bakery, The Twisted Indian, Baum Mi by La V, Sans Market — but Karma has since taken over the entire space.

According to the Pinellas County Property Appraiser’s records, 1113 Central Ave. is owned by E E 1111 Central Ave Holding LLC.

The prominent white two-story building, builty in 1940, is zoned for use as a restaurant or cafeteria and consists of 6,168 square feet total with 5,618 of those square feet heated. The property was valued at $1,326,000 by the county in 2021.

Patch contacted Ellison & Lazenby, PLLC, the registered agent listed for E E 1111 Central Ave Holding LLC, and they had no comment about the what might be moving into the space once Karma moves out.
