Kids and Kubs Announce Passing of Former President--Ed Broomes
Ed was elected Club president in 2021 and had the special challenge of keeping the Club going through the COVID pandemic.
"I am deeply saddened about the passing of former Kids and Kubs
president Ed Broomes. Ed joined the Club in 2016, a year before I
did. He said then that he had waited 40 years to play with the Kids and
Kubs. He had previously played with Indian Rocks Beach. Ed was a
great athlete and devoted Club member. In 2018-19 he achieved the Club's
best batting average. He was elected Club president in 2021 and had the
special challenge of keeping the Club going through the COVID pandemic.
After recovering from a stroke, he returned to the Club enthusiastically,
pitching in to help wherever needed. He was recently elected again as a Board
Director. It was a privilege for me to serve together with Ed on the
Board. Ed greatly contributed to the vitality of Kids and Kubs and will
be sorely missed. Our deep sympathy is extended to Eve and the
family. Arrangements will be announced when available."
