Kids And Kubs Open 95th Season,Tuesday, October 29, 9:30 AM

Club members will appear in the traditional ceremonial uniform shirt and black bow tie.

At St. Petersburg's North Shore Park, the "Grand Daddy of Senior Softball" organizations will open the 2024-25 season on Tuesday, October 29.

Opening game ceremonies begin at 9:30 AM, with a colorful flag presentation, accompanied by the "Star-Spangled Banner" and "Oh Canada" at North Shore Park, 901 North Shore Drive. The ball field is adjacent to the St. Petersburg Aquatic Center at the Park.

Club members will parade in the traditional ceremonial uniform shirt and black bow tie. The tie became a trademark of the Club early in its 95-year existence. Long ties were an impediment to fielding ground balls, and the bow tie was out of the way, close to the collar, and much easier to manage. Today's clip-on bow tie makes neither fielding nor tying an issue.

Under the direction of a nine-member Board, the four teams within the Club call North Shore Park their home, with games every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, beginning at 9:30 AM. Admission is free.

Saturday, November 9, the Club will host The Tampa General Hospital Organ Transplant Team in the first of its Saturday exhibition games. Those in attendance can meet with hospital staff regarding Organ Donation procedures.
