Kids and Kubs Open Practice Sessions Today, September 1, For 2026-27 Play, Tryouts Welcome .
Kids and Kubs (also known as the Three-Quarter Century Softball Club) offers softball tryouts.
You do not have to be a former superstar or Minor League baseball player to be a member of the Kids & Kubs. We do have experienced players; we also have players who are relatively new to the game. Player safety is the priority.
Pitcher screens are required, and face masks are optional. Stealing bases and sliding are not permitted. Many CDC protocols are observed.
Kids & Kubs Senior Softball Club was founded in 1930 and is the oldest continuously operating senior softball Club in the United States.

Beginning Tuesday, September 1, Kids and Kubs (also known as the Three-Quarter Century Softball Club) offers approximately six weeks of practice, try-outs, and preparation for the 2026- 27 season. It is open to all senior softball players over 60, returning Kids and Kubs members, and prospective members at St. Petersburg's North Shore Park.
The coming months are a time to get in shape for great fun. Pickup games on Tuesdays and Thursdays (weather permitting) at 8:30 AM are underway and will continue until late October 2026. Tuesday, October 29, 2026, is the first day of the Club's Intraclub schedule.

Games are played at 901 North Shore Park Blvd, Ball Park. The home diamond for the team is across the street from the St Petersburg Aquatic Center, 9th Avenue, at 901 North Shore Drive, NE. Prior softball experience is not required, although that is helpful.
Players must be able to throw a softball, catch, and swing a bat. Male and Female players are welcome. Players over 60 are encouraged to participate in the Summer Ball sessions. However, they are not eligible for Kids and Kubs membership until age 74.

Players aged 74 and above can begin preparing to open the Kids and Kubs Intra Club season on Tuesday, October 29, 2026, through March 27, 2027. A two-week postseason playoff is yet to be determined and will end in April 2027.
