1 Charged In Hollywood Nites Shooting
Two people were injured when shots rang out at the St. Petersburg club early Monday morning.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A dispute at a St. Petersburg nightclub took a violent turn Monday morning when shots were exchanged between two groups of people.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, its officers received a call about shots fired at the 1205 Dr. Martin Luther King St. S. Hollywood Nites club around 2:40 a.m. When they arrived, they learned that two groups of people had gotten into a dispute inside the club.
Just before the shots were fired, a 2010 Chevrolet Impala was headed eastbound on 12th Avenue South, approaching Martin Luther King Street South. Someone on the street, an email from police said, fired several rounds into the passenger side of the Impala. Police say someone inside the Impala then returned fired.

A female bystander, Shanika Everett, 34, was struck by one of the bullets in the torso. She was listed in critical, but stable condition at a local hospital Monday afternoon, the email said.
Brandy Griffin, 21, was also struck during the exchange. Police say he was the driver of the Impala. His injuries are described as not life threatening.

Ladray Maxwell, 20, a passenger in the Impala has been charged for being a felon in possession of a firearm, police said.
More charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. No further information is available at this time.
