Lightning Strikes Truck Traveling On Tampa Bay Area Highway: Report
Watch: A truck driven by tourists leaving the Tampa Bay area was hit by lightning and "completely fried" Friday, reports said.
TAMPA BAY, FL — A truck driven by tourists on their way home from vacation was struck by lightning Friday as they drove out of the Tampa Bay area, Storyful reported.
Michaelle May Whalen was filming a lightning storm with her cell phone when her husband’s truck, which was traveling just ahead of her vehicle, was hit by the lightning strike, according to reports. (Check out her video of the truck being hit by lightning here.)
In the video, a voice can be heard asking, “Is he ok?”

Whalen told Storyful that nobody — neither her husband nor her three children, who were with him — was injured, though the truck was “completely fried.”
