Lily needs a home

Why has Lily been with us so long?

Lily is a two and a half year old female Staffordshire Terrier mix. Lily
is a shy girl in the shelter, but don't let that keep you away, just
take your time and she will show you how loving and loyal she is. Lily
walks great on a leash and knows basic commands. Upon adopting Lily, the Pit Project will provide a crate, leash, collar, Kong toy, bag of Science Diet food and a vet visit to Pet Pal Veterinary Clinic.
Lily is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. You must own your home to
adopt this girl. Lily's Guardian Angel is Joni Witt and her adoption fee
is $75.00.

You may ask the following question, so here
are some answers and we ask that you please share her post as we know
"there's a lid to every pot" and she certainly has one waiting!

Reason #1: Lily is a Pit Bull Terrier mix...
Pit
Bulls are a misunderstood and often mistreated breed of dog. Some
people are fearful of the breed and it takes a special type of person to
be a Pit owner.

Reason #2: Lily is very timid. She isn't a dog that will
come to the front of her kennel wagging her tail begging for treats,
although, if you are patient, she will do just that BUT you have to
give her a little time. Our staff, dog walkers and volunteers can
approach her with open arms but we are slow with our movements and
gentle with Lily. She will be a very loyal companion and may even be a
lap dog when she is adopted.

Reason #3: You must own your home to adopt Lily. As we know,
it's unfortunate but realistic that most apartments/condos/townhouses
won't allow certain breeds. :( And if they do allow them,
once your lease is up and it's time to move, you are again caught in a
pickle looking for a home that will allow a Pit Bull mix. We can't
tell you just how many phone calls we receive about people having to
give up their dog, mostly pitties, due to just this and it is heart
breaking. We will ensure that our adoptable pit bull mixes have a
forever home in an owned home.

*As a No Kill shelter, Lily is welcome to stay as long as needed
until her owner comes for her, but we would really like to see that
happen sooner rather than later, so please consider opening up your
heart for Lily and watch her bloom!*
