Madeira Beach Yoga To Offer Free Bring-A-Bra Yoga Class
Madeira Beach Yoga is hosting a free Bring a Bra Yoga community class on Sunday, July 29, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. to benefit homeless women.

MADEIRA BEACH, FL – If you’ve been wanting to try yoga, here’s your chance. And it will only cost you a bra.
Madeira Beach Yoga is hosting a free Bring-a-Bra Yoga community class on Sunday, July 29, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. to benefit the St. Petersburg Free Clinic Women’s Residence.
Established in 1989, the Virginia and David Baldwin Women’s Residence provides a safe place to stay as well as support services to single homeless women as they work toward self-sufficiency. Residents may stay from one to 12 months while working to save money, set goals and build life skills.

The newly renovated residence includes a large commercial kitchen with teaching areas to show healthy cooking techniques, an open dining area to foster a sense of community, and training rooms to teach job-seeking and life skills. Ninety percent of the program’s graduates continue to live independently in stable conditions one year after graduation.
The yoga class will be held on the studio’s yoga patio overlooking Boca Ciega Bay in the Madeira Beach Recreation Center campus, 200 Rex Place, Madeira Beach.

“We learned that the residence is always in need of unmentionables, meaning new bras and underwear for the women in residence,” said said Sherry Duquet, co-owner of Madeira Beach Yoga. “It seems like such an easy way to help that we decided to feature the request in a donation- based community yoga class.”
The public is invited to attend the one-hour, all-levels yoga class and encouraged to bring a donation of new bras or underwear for the women’s residence. Cash donations also will be accepted for the charity.
Attendees should also bring a yoga mat and a bottle of water to stay hydrated. A few mats will be on hand for those who need to borrow one.
Registration is required for this free event as space is limited and fills quickly. Register online here or call (727) 401-7380.
Madeira Beach Yoga provides classes six days weekly for all levels of yogis, beginner through experienced. There are special events each month in addition to the weekly schedule.
Yoga is offered in three settings at the Madeira Beach Recreation Center: on the beach at Archibald Park, on the patio and in the studio, both overlooking Boca Ciega Bay.
