Mainsail Art Festival Gets Under Way Saturday

The event features hundreds of artists and lots of live entertainment.

Tampa Bay area arts lovers are likely to find that St. Petersburg’s Viony Park is the place to be this weekend.

That’s because the 40th annual Mainsail Art Festival gets under way Saturday and runs through Sunday at 701 Bayshore Drive N.E. The two day event features more than 260 artists from across the country and a lineup of live musical acts.

Saturday

  • Noon to 1 p.m. – Sol Caribe
  • 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. – Trae Pierce & the T Stone Band
  • 2:45 to 4 p.m. – Wendy and the Soul Shakers
  • 4:30 to 6 p.m. – Pure Prairie League

Sunday

  • 1 to 2 p.m. – De Lei’ed Parrots
  • 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. – Dropin’ Pickup
  • 3:45 to 5 p.m. – Legendary JCs

Strolling entertainment both days will be provided by Deanna the Mime, Barnaby the Magician and George Aldrich the Minstrel.

Art on display and for sale at the festival includes ceramics, fiber, glass, mixed media, oil and acrylic, photography, sculpture and more. Culinary arts are also well represented, festival organizers say, with plenty of food and refreshments for sale.

The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, visit the festival’s website.
