Florida Man Attacks Pregnant Girlfriend In Publix Parking Lot: PCSO

A nearby witness pulled his gun on the man because he "feared for the woman's life," according to Pinellas County authorities.

LARGO, FL — A Florida man is accused of brutally attacking his pregnant girlfriend in a Largo Publix parking lot and stopping only after a witness drew a gun and pointed it at him, according to Pinellas County authorities.

Cole J. Danisment, 27, of Largo, is facing a domestic battery charge after police were called to 10801 Starkey Rd. shortly after 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

According to a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit, Danisment and the victim had been in a relationship for more than a year. The woman told deputies that Danisment became angry and punched her in the face multiple times. She fell to the ground, and Danisment proceeded to stomp on her head and upper body, according to the arrest affidavit.

Police said the victim told authorities she was 14 weeks pregnant and Danisment was aware of that prior to the attack.

The attack stopped when a nearby witness intervened by drawing his concealed firearm on Danisment. According to police, the witness told deputies he "feared for the victim's life."

Following the attack, authorities said the woman was covered in "large amounts of blood" and likely had a broken nose.

According to authorities, a no-contact order issued Oct. 11 prohibited Danisment from seeing the victim; however, it did not stop his "pattern of violence" toward her.

When interviewed by authorities, Danisment told deputies he was aware of the victim's pregnancy. He did not deny the attack but told deputies he "saw red" and didn't remember the attack due to "blacking out."

Danisment was charged with aggravated domestic battery and taken to the Pinellas County Jail, where he is being held on a $20,000 bond as of Tuesday.
