Man Beat Mother’s Fiancé To Death: St. Pete Police
A man viciously beat his mother's fiancé during an April altercation, police said. The victim died from his injuries on Sunday.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man is charged with murder after beating his mother’s fiancé to death in St. Petersburg, authorities said.
Michael Wood, 26, had an altercation with the fiancé, 37-year-old Kenneth McMurray, on April 10 outside the home where they both lived in the 2300 block of 15th Avenue S., according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.
Wood punched McMurray, knocked him to the ground, and continued hitting him, causing severe brain trauma. Wood was arrested and charged with aggravated battery at that time, police said.

McMurray was hospitalized, but never recovered and eventually died from his injuries on Sunday.
The charge against Wood was changed to second-degree murder, police said.
