Man Seriously Injured in St. Pete Crash

The accident happened late Monday night.

A Monday night crash in St. Petersburg resulted in life-threatening injuries for a pedestrian.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the man, who has not yet been identified, was crossing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South in the 1300 block around 10:30 p.m. when he was struck by a Mercedes.

The Mercedes, driven by Ebonique Stephens, 23, was heading south in the median lane at the time. The car, an email from the agency stated, hit the man, throwing him into the windshield and then over the vehicle.

The man was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with life-threatening injuries.

Stephens’ 4-year-old son suffered minor injuries from glass fragments. He was treated at the scene, police noted.
