St. Petersburg Teen Dies After Shooting

The incident took place along 13th Avenue South Tuesday afternoon.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL - A 17-year-old St. Petersburg boy has died following a Tuesday afternoon shooting on 13th Avenue South.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, Gabriel Javar Wallace and a suspect got involved in a verbal dispute outside of a home at 2321 13th Ave. S. around 4 p.m.

“During the argument, the suspect produced a handgun and fired at the victim striking him in the chest,” the agency wrote in an email to media.

Wallace was taken to a local hospital in ”very critical condition,” but later died.

The suspect has been identified by police as Abrion M. Witcher, 18. Police are still looking for him. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the police department at 727-893-7780.
