Man In Wheelchair Fatally Hit By Pick-Up Truck In Lealman: FHP

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg man in a wheelchair was killed Tuesday night after being hit by a pick-up truck while crossing 28th Street N. in Lealman, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The 67-year-old was in the middle of the road when he was hit by the truck, which was traveling south on 28th Street N., south of 46th Terrace North, around 9 p.m.

The wheelchair didn’t have any lights or reflective equipment, FHP said. The victim suffered fatal injuries at the scene.

The truck’s driver, a 54-year-old Pinellas Park man, was uninjured, the agency said.
