Medical Incident Blamed in Fatal Crash With Bus

A 54-year-old St. Petersburg woman is dead following the Friday morning accident.

While a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus driver escaped injury in a Friday morning crash, the motorist that hit her has died.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8:10 a.m. as the bus, driven by Donna Cameron, 41, of Pinellas Park, was stopped in the outside southbound lane of 66th Street, just north of 54th Avenue.

As the bus was waiting at a stop, a car driven by Jennifer Brungnoli, 54, was heading south on 66th Street. Brungnoli, troopers wrote in an email to media, suffered a medical emergency and lost control of her car.

The car collided with the rear of the bus.

Brungnoli was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

No charges are anticipated.
