The 15-year-old South Florida boy sent the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office a threatening message through Instagram, the agency said.
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A 15-year-old in Miami was arrested after sending the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office a threatening message on social media.
The teen, arrested Monday in South Florida by Miami police officers, was charged with making a false report concerning planting a bomb, explosive or weapon of mass destruction, according to a PCSO news release.
Though the agency named the suspect, it’s Patch’s policy not to name those in the juvenile justice system. It’s not clear whether he is being charged as an adult or juvenile.

Earlier this month, another teen was arrested for making threats against the agency.
On Nov. 16, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 16-year-old boy on three counts of making written or electronic threats to conduct a mass shooting or act of terrorism, and unlawful use of two-way a communication device after he posted similar threats on a PCSO Instagram post.
“The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has zero tolerance for all threats made on social media,” the agency said. “We are committed to the safety of all citizens and will investigate all threats to the fullest extent.”
