Missing Fisherman’s Body Found In Treasure Island Waters: Police
The body of a man who went fishing Friday night and never returned was found in Treasure Island Saturday, St. Pete police said.
TREASURE ISLAND, FL — The body of a missing fisherman was found in Treasure Island waters Saturday, according to a St. Petersburg Police Department news release.
John Kotulick, 71, left to go fishing in his kayak Friday night and never returned. His wife reported him missing Saturday around 9:45 a.m.
Officers found his truck at the Jungle Prada boat launch, police said.

SPPD’s Marine Unit, the Coast Guard and the Pinellas County Sheriff Office’s helicopter searched the water for Kotulick.
His kayak was found near a waterfront home on Treasure Island, police said. His body was later found at 2 p.m. in water near Treasure Island.

While his cause of death hasn’t been determined, investigators don’t suspect foul play.
