Motorcyclist Critically Injured In St. Petersburg Crash

The accident closed the intersection of 34th Street South and 18th Avenue South for a time on Friday.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 32-year-old man is in critical condition following a Friday morning crash on 34th Street South.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the accident happened around 8:20 a.m. when a 2005 Ford Taurus, driven by Pamela Renita Mason, 56, attempted to turn east onto 18th Avenue South from 34th Street and didn’t see a motorcycle in the intersection.

Police say Darnell Kindred was heading north on 34th Street when he was struck by the car. Kindred was thrown from his bike and suffered critical injuries, police say.

The intersection was closed for several hours following the crash.
