New Barbecue Eatery Coming to Downtown St. Pete
The owner of theAvenue Eat/Drink has announced his latest concept.
St. Petersburg restauranteur Stephen Schrutt is bringing another eatery to downtown in the very near future.
Schrutt, owner of theAvenue Eat/Drink, has a taste for barbecue and heβs betting visitors to the busy district will, too. Thatβs why heβs announced plans to open a new barbecue concept eatery in the space formerly occupied by POW pizza and Woodfired Pizza. The restaurant will be located next to the 330 1st Ave. S. Eat/Drink and World of Beer.
Schrutt isnβt releasing the name or full details about the eatery as of yet, but says hungry patrons have a lot to look forward to.

βThe concept will be good food, drinks and customer focused, but will have its own vibe and unique cocktail program,β Schrutt said. βOwning adjoining restaurants opens unlimited possibilities and we will do more block parties, live music and proper food and drinks.β
Schruttβs theAvenue Eat/Drink opened in 2011 and quickly became known for its burgers, wings and cocktails. He is also the owner of the soon-to-open KINGS Street Food Counter, 937 Central Ave. That eatery is slated to open in October and will feature gourmet hot dogs, shakes, local craft beer, grilled cheese sandwiches and more.
