Officer Involved Shooting Under Investigation in St. Pete

The St. Petersburg Police Department is on the scene of an officer involved shooting.

The incident unfolded at 9th Avenue North and 49th Street as local police were helping another agency with an undercover operation, police spokesman Mike Puetz wrote in an email to media.

“Information is still preliminary, but there are no reports of any injuries at this time,” Puetz wrote.

No further details are available as of yet. It is currently unclear what law enforcement agency St. Petersburg Police were helping with the shooting occurred.
