Operation Street Sweep Nets 30 Arrests

The warrant sweep is taking place in south Pinellas County.

Law enforcement officials throughout Pinellas County teamed up Thursday to capture people with outstanding felony warrants.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office announced 30 of the 401 people it targeted during Operation Street Sweep – including eight from the county’s most wanted list – have been picked up.

The joint sweep included the sheriff’s office, the St. Petersburg, Gulfport, Treasure Island and Pinellas Park police departments and the U.S. Marshal Service.

The idea behind the effort was to lower the number of outstanding warrants in Pinellas County. Thursday’s 12-hour sweep was intended to locate the targeted 401 people, along with 30 on the most wanted list, an email from the agency stated.

Those picked up were wanted on such charges as drug trafficking, aggravated battery, armed burglary and domestic battery by strangulation.

Those on the most wanted list picked up Thursday are:

  • James Anthony Chin, DOB: 12/24/1994
  • Thomas Shane East, DOB 02/07/1980
  • Nicholas Anton Hayes, DOB: 04/09/1973
  • Roderick Gerrard Jackson Jr., DOB: 12/07/1990
  • Tarri Martaz Mahamery, DOB: 08/17/1982
  • Joshua Frelen Nelson, DOB 07/30/1992
  • Cameron Rashad Pittman, DOB 12/15/1990
  • Austin Thomas Wolf, DOB: 09/25/1992

The joint effort to reduce those numbers is anticipated to continue.
