Pedestrian Injured In Central Ave. Hit-And-Run Crash: St. Pete Police
A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on Central Avenue Thursday night, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on Central Avenue Thursday night, St. Petersburg police said.
The driver of an SUV was going west, approaching 25th Street, around 9 p.m. when he hit a man walking across Central Avenue in the 2500 block, police said.
The SUV hit the pedestrian, who was not in the crosswalk, in the road’s westbound lane.

The driver initially fled the scene in his SUV, but he was followed by a witness and later returned to the area, police said.
The victim was brought to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with life-threatening injuries.
