Pedestrian Seriously Injured in St. Pete Crash

The accident happened along 4th Street North Saturday morning.

A 26-year-old woman is in critical condition following a Saturday morning crash along 4th Street North.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the accident happened just before 3 a.m. when a 2015 Chrysler 200 was heading south on 4th Street North in the west curb lane. The vehicle, driven by Cortez Pierre Woodard, 26, struck a pedestrian as she was walking east across 4th.

Woodard, police say, stopped his car, picked up the woman and took her to Bayfront Health.

The pedestrian, identified as Toyeshia Lashea Edwards of St. Petersburg was last listed in critical condition.

The accident remains under investigation.
