Penthouse Sells For $27M, Sets St. Pete Sales Record: Reports

The penthouse of a condo building being built along the downtown St. Pete waterfront sold for $27M, setting a new record, reports said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL โ€” The penthouse of a condo building being built along the St. Petersburg waterfront has been sold for a record $27 million, according to multiple reports.

The most expensive condo previously sold at Saltaire for $8.25 million last year.

The penthouse at the Waldorf Astoria Residences, which is being built near Al Lang Stadium and will be the cityโ€™s tallest building once completed, was sold to a โ€œlocal business leader and longtime supporter of St. Pete,โ€ developers told WTSP.

The 50-story building, a $500 million project, will have 163 units.

The developers, PMG and Feldman Equities โ€” launched sales for the building in April, the Tampa Bay Times said.

The 10,684-square-foot, two-story penthouse will also feature a 50-foot private pool, a private foyer entrance, custom closets and smart home technology, reports said.

A managing partner for PMG told the St. Pete Catalyst that he was โ€œnot really surprisedโ€ by the penthouseโ€™s price tag.

โ€œItโ€™s been a pleasant surprise, but not a complete shock,โ€ Dan Kaplan said. โ€œWhen we go into upscale areas like St. Pete โ€” with a brand thatโ€™s recognizable, that sort of commands the expectation of super high-end luxury โ€” we find that weโ€™re generally very successful with sales.โ€
