ST. PETERSBURG, FL —Pet Pal Animal Shelter announced on June 17 via the organization's Facebook page that they have temporarily closed due to the coronavirus until June 30. They have not said on their Facebook page if one of their employees tested positive for coronavirus.

Patch did reach out to them, and we will update the article as soon as we hear back from them.

A Facebook user named Danielle Johnson posted a comment on their status that she would like to know if one of their employees did test positive for coronavirus because she and her daughter were in the establishment last weekend.

Pet Pal replied to her comment, "Hi Danielle, all of our shelter staff are being tested as a precaution."

Community members can view adoptable animals on the shelter's website, and donations are also being accepted online.
